Vin Diesel and H Collective Acquire ‘xXx’ Film Rights as They Prepare the Next Sequel in the Franchise

Vin Diesel’s production company, One Race Films, together with H Collective, has acquired the film rights to the ‘xXx’ franchise from Revolver Studios. The production companies are currently working on the next installment of the film franchise, as they intend to start shooting the fourth chapter in December of this year.

The latest release of the series, Return of Xander Cage, came out in 2017, grossing almost $1 billion at the box-office across the world, with great support from the Chinese audiences. The success of the third film was used by Diesel to support his push for the fourth installment at Paramount Pictures. However, his attempt that started in early
2017 never solidified the interest it needed from the studio executives.

The actor, who has also served as producer of the also successful Fast
and Furious franchise, decided to take the production on his own hands and partnered with H Collective to acquire rights for sequels of the action series. This means that Revolver Studios will retain the rights over the first 3 movies in the meanwhile.

Regarding production, the team working on the upcoming blockbuster has announced that director D. J. Caruso (who directed Return of Xander Cage and the film Eagle Eye) is already attached to direct, and producers Jeff Kirschenbaum, Joe Roth and Samantha Vicent are on board as well.
