Wabba Lubba Dub Dub! ‘Rick and Morty’ Gets 70-Episode Order from Adult Swim

Rick and Morty, currently ranked #8 on “IMDb’s Top 250 TV Shows of All Time” (three spots above The Sopranos for some context), has been given a 70-episode order from Adult Swim, the network who has housed the cartoon through its first three seasons.

A two-year gap between seasons two and three had many fans worried about the fate of season four. The 70-episode order is reassuring news to audiences who still have yet to have a date announced.

Creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland celebrated the news with an Instagram video of both of them showering and then exclaiming that they can’t shower together anymore because they have to get back to work; a fitting announcement for the type of show, it can be seen below. Dan Harmon has also created television series’ Community and The Sarah Silverman Program.

The show is a spin on the relationship between Doc Brown and Marty McFly from Back to the Future. A violent, raunchy, and surprisingly dramatic spin. Look out on Cinema 35 for we will let all of you know the minute a season four date is released!
